As part of Forth’s annual Roadmap Conference, Forth presents the Roadmap Awards to celebrate individuals, companies and organizations advancing electric, shared and smart transportation in the categories of Public Sector Leadership, Private Sector Leadership, Community Partnership, Research and Career Achievement.

The Roadmap Awards were presented as part of our Roadmap Conference Panels, which were presented as webinars this year due to the cancellation of this year’s in-person Roadmap conference.

“As our industry continues to grow, it’s more important than ever to recognize those who are providing us with the ‘roadmap’ to a clean mobility future,” said Jeff Allen, Forth’s Executive Director.

PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERSHIP AWARD – Daimler/DTNA
Forth is pleased to award Daimler/ DTNA (Daimler Trucks North America) with the Forth Private Sector Leadership award for introducing the world’s first autonomous commercial vehicle licensed for use on U.S. public roads and for their commitment to ensuring cleaner air for children who ride school buses via their Thomas Built Bus subsidiary. Forth applauds their leading the charge for zero-emission heavy-and medium-duty trucks, and school buses.

“I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of the team at Daimler Trucks North America,” said DTNA’s Chief Financial Officer, John O’Leary. “Our shared future depends on the collaboration of public-private enterprise to quickly accelerate the deployment of C0₂-neutral commercial transportation, and we’re proud to lead the way with vehicle development right here in Oregon.”

PUBLIC SECTOR LEADERSHIP AWARD – Norsk Ebilforening (The Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association)
Forth honors Norsk Ebilforening (the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association) the world’s largest EV driver association with over 75,000 members, for their tireless and innovative advocacy over the last 20 years to promote electric vehicles. We would also like to congratulate Norway on reaching a historical milestone with more than half of its passenger car market driving fully electric.

“To be awarded Forth's leadership award is a great honor for all of us at the Norwegian EV Association,” said Christina Bu, Secretary General Norwegian EV Association. “This award recognizes the association's goal to promote EV enthusiasm in Norway, but also around the world, and will motivate us to continue our work for the much-needed electrification of transport.

COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD – LCV’s (League of Conservation Voters) CHISPA
LCV Chispa is being honored for its Clean Buses for Healthy Niños grassroots campaign and the dedication of Latinx and community of color advocates to protect the earth. Chispa has advocated for and has passed significant bills translating into new clean school bus laws in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, and Maryland. Chispa is now advocating for federal legislation for clean school buses.

"We're grateful to receive this recognition. Ensuring that children can breathe clean air on their way to and from school is a key priority of Latinx communities throughout the country, and we are proud to lift up their voices as they call for a transition to a clean ride for kids,” said Johana Vicente, Chispa National Director. “There's much more work to do and we look forward to working with Forth to create a more equitable and sustainable future for families of color."

RESEARCH AWARD – ICCT (International Council on Clean Transportation)
Forth is pleased to provide the Research Award to ICCT for its compelling work illustrating electric vehicles’ superior efficiency in converting energy into vehicle movement; their publication of electric vehicle guidebooks; developing policies and incentives to most effectively drive growth in the global electric vehicle market; and their 2030 Transportation Roadmap findings on the benefits of electrifying fleets and medium and heavy-duty vehicles to achieve climate and health goals.

“I’m honored to accept the Forth Roadmap Award for Research on behalf of the ICCT’s talented team of policy analysts,” said Drew Kodjak, executive director of ICCT. “We greatly value our partnership with Forth and look forward to even closer collaboration in the future.

CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – Mary D. Nichols
Forth is pleased to present the Forth Career Achievement Award to Mary D. Nichols, Chair of the California Air Resources Board. Chair Nichols has been a passionate champion for clean air throughout her prestigious career in the government and non-profit sector. Her work includes crafting California’s internationally recognized climate action plan, serving as California’s Secretary of Natural Resources, serving as senior staff attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, and as an Assistant Administrator for US EPA’s office Air and Radiation under President Bill Clinton.

“I’ve been an admirer of Forth ever since I first heard of it. We’re beginning to see opportunities that even a year ago would have seemed impossible. Now they seem not only possible but necessary to the survival of our cities,” said Nichols. “I feel honored to be recognized by you all. I give you my commitment that as long as I’m around on this planet I will be working to further the cause.”

Forth's Roadmap Conference is the nation's leading annual conference on electric and smart transportation. It is held annually in Portland, Oregon.
