Webinar: Oregon's Electric Vehicle Rebate

August 3, 2017

By: Jeanette Shaw, Director of Government Relations

Governor Kate Brown and the Oregon Legislature took a big step in the right direction by including electric vehicle rebates within the Oregon 2017 Transportation Package. Establishing electric vehicle rebates is very important because forty percent of Oregon’s carbon pollution comes from transportation and electric vehicles produce zero emissions.

While Oregonians await the Governor’s signature of the Package (expected by August 9, 2017), Forth held a webinar that included insights from guest speakers Ruchi Sadhir, Energy Policy Advisor from Governor Kate Brown’s office; Nels Johnson, Senior Vice President at Thorn Run Partners; Colin McConnaha, Senior Climate Policy Advisor, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Forth staff. Rebates are expected to take effect in early 2018 for both the “Basic Rebate” and the “Charge Ahead Rebate”.

The webinar can be viewed on our YouTube channel and the slides are available below.
