National Drive Electric Week 2020 Recap
By: Steven Alaman
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, National Drive Electric Week was quite a bit different this year. Forth and our group of Electric Vehicle Ambassadors decided to play it safe and keep our events virtual this year.
We shared and highlighted a lot of amazing content with our EV ambassadors, here are some highlights to check out:
EV Owners Testimonial Videos
To help spread the word about National Drive Electric Week and all of the events, we worked with our EV Ambassadors to them giving testimonials about why going electric has worked for them and they ultimately decided to make the switch. Forth shared these electric vehicle testimonial videos throughout the week to remind people to check out all the available webinar content or to visit a dealership to take an electric vehicle out for a spin!
EV Owners Panel Webinar
We asked our volunteers to participate in our electric vehicle owners’ panel. We were thrilled to get a group of EV owners with such diverse experiences.
Our panelists included Courtney McRae-Alston, a Chevy Bolt EV owner that uses her vehicle driving for Lyft and delivering for Amazon. Courtney puts 400+ miles on her Bolt EV every day. She loves driving electric and has saved a ton by ditching gas and vehicle maintenance. We also featured Alison Reddy-Abel who is part of the Oregon Electric Vehicles Association. She drives a Tesla Model 3 and has taken her electric vehicle all the way from Oregon to Missouri and back. She even did it during a heatwave and brought her dog Meadow as her co-pilot who could stay in the car during hot days thanks to the Model 3’s dog mode feature. Bob Sack is a Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid owner. Bob is a member of the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network and says he makes a game out of avoiding the pump and seeing how long he can go without filling up. Bob says he hasn’t put gas in his Outlander’s tank since March!
