The Top EV Moments of 2017
By: Forth
2017 was a year of substantial growth for electric mobility and for Forth. We’d like to extend a very special thank you to all of our members and partners for supporting our work and for their efforts to advance electric and smart mobility!
At our last networking events of 2017 in Seattle and Portland, we highlighted the year's top moments in the electric mobility industry as well as within the scope of our work. Our greatest achievements in 2017 were opening the Go Forth Electric Showcase, growing the annual Roadmap Conference by over 50%, increasing the number of our transportation equity projects, and last but not least, launching Forth.
Meanwhile, on an industry-wide level:
- The federal EV tax incentive was proposed to be eliminated immediately in the draft Tax Cut and Jobs Act, but as of December 15th, is no longer part of the proposed tax package
- Electrify America, the largest EV infrastructure program in the United States, began awarding its first recipients
- More heavy duty electric and hybrid trucks were introduced
- Oregon received an electric vehicle purchase rebate
- Utilities across the country began taking an interest in the electric mobility industry and in Oregon, the two largest utilities have developed plans to accelerate transportation electrification
- Several countries and large cities announced their commitment to banning vehicles with internal combustion engines
We'll begin our 2018 networking events, still in Seattle and Portland in mid-January. For a list of our upcoming events, click here.
