Forth and EVNoire were proud to present the E-Mobility Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference, November 17-18. The second year of the conference brought more than 1000 participants from 11 countries together with a shared focus on an equitable transition to electric transportation.

Panels discussing federal policies, electric school buses, tribal electrification, experiences of diverse women in the industry and more took place over the two days of the conference. Registrants from around the world gathered for opening remarks by Michael Regan, EPA Administrator who noted, “As we work to realize a cleaner future, we’re also fighting to ensure it’s a more equitable one." U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm in the Building Back Better panel, set the tone on the second day stating, "If we can prove our economy can run on clean transportation, then other countries will follow suit."

During breaks, attendees took advantage of networking opportunities and DJs livened the atmosphere.

Miriam Bouallegue of Metro Energy, on the Location, Location, Location panel discussed infrastructure. "A lesson that we've picked up is that it's bigger than simply where you place the [charging] infrastructure,” she said. “You want to make sure the community can actually use the infrastructure and that it's benefiting them.

Clean Transportation on Tribal Lands discussed how to ensure indigenous voices are included in e-mobility advances. Shaina Oliver from Moms for Clean Air Force encouraged companies to, "walk into the community as a person introducing themselves. They need to be vulnerable and open.” This, amongst many other informative statements, was why this panel received the highest satisfaction rating by attendees.

During the event, we asked attendees to share a word that they feel best describes the conference. Most notably, they found it inspiring, informative, and thought provoking.

Forth and EVNoire were proud to provide a conference that offered advanced discussion on the future of equitable transportation electrification and the issues the industry still faces. We hope that the conversations the conference highlighted can bring action to ensure that the e-mobility industry continues to find more diverse, more inclusive and more equitable outcomes. We look forward to continuing these discussions and will continue to host spaces where rigorous discussion around an equitable future is center-stage.
